Silver Lotus Holistics is a Lymphatic Drainage, Body Sculpting and Massage Service, primarily focusing on post operative care.
My name is Mel Bonthuys, and I have been in the industry for 7 years, beginning my journey in my native South Africa, doing Nails, Reiki, Reflexology and Swedish massage!
Although I no longer do nails and reiki, I am grateful for the stepping stone it gave me into the industry.
Over the years, I have transformed Silver Lotus to offer a service menu that I’m truly passionate about and that truly delivers on results, and amazing benefits for my clients.
Anyone who knows me personally knows that I live and breathe all things Lymphatic Drainage, and I am constantly upskilling and trying to increase my knowledge in this area, with Lipedema care being a very specific interest of mine.
There is never a one size fits all, whether you are having a Lymphatic Drainage, Body Sculpting or Deep Tissue Massage. Therefore, I treat all my clients on a very individual basis, so I can and often will modify or custom build a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.
Every client will need to fill out a consultation form when they book a treatment at Silver Lotus. This is just so I can get a bit of background on any medical issues you may have, and be aware of any contra-indications that might not be best suited for you.
I will listen to what you want, and what your expectations are, as well as giving you further home care advice so that you get the best outcome from your treatment.
I am fully insured and am also a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists, giving you complete peace of mind with the qualifications I hold.
Therapies
This massage requires the therapist to break through the superficial layers of the skin, and down through the fascia to where knots have formed, due to injury or tension.
If a deep tissue massage is not helping, you’ll usually find it’s because of tight fascia, and that is where myofascial release comes in to save the day.
Traditional Classic Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a slow, gentle rhythmic treatment that targets the lymphatic system.
Used for people who have had surgery, and require specialised post operative care.
Used in preparation for surgery, and is very similar to a Classic MLD, with focus on surgery sites.
The new ‘trend’ that is hot on everyone’s lips, resulting in a smooth, flat, sunken belly is from Brazilian Lymphatic Massage.
This is entirely an aesthetic treatment, and has the added benefit of wooden tools, aka, Madero-therapy tools.
Also known as K-Taping, this is usually an add on treatment for Deep tissue / sports massage clients, and used in my Post Op MLD sessions.
This massage is a literal ‘melt into heaven’ massage.
My Indian Head Massages will include your neck, shoulders, face, ears, scalp and hair.
This package has been put together for those who want to indulge in a bit of self-care.
Consisting of three treatments, all packed into your choice of either 90 minutes or 2 hours!
This is your everyday classic massage, and is the base point for every other variation of massages that exist.
